Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Sceneflow ("we," "our," "the Service") is a browser-based tool that takes a script, breaks it into sentences, generates search keywords for each sentence, and searches Pexels and Pixabay for matching stock footage so you can preview, select, and download clips.
This policy explains what data the Service touches, where it lives, and what — if anything — we as the operator of Sceneflow ever see. The short version: your script, your API keys, and your search results never touch our servers. The only thing our server is involved in is checking whether your license key is valid.
2. What Stays on Your Device
Sceneflow runs entirely in your browser. The following are entered and used locally, and are never transmitted to, or stored on, any server we operate:
- Your Groq API key — used only to generate visual keywords for your script, directly from your browser to Groq.
- Your Pexels API key — used only to search Pexels for footage, directly from your browser to Pexels.
- Your Pixabay API key — used only to search Pixabay for footage, directly from your browser to Pixabay.
- Your script text — processed locally and sent only to the AI/stock-footage providers above, as needed to generate keywords and run searches.
- Search results, clip selections, and downloaded footage — held in your browser session and written to your own device when you download a ZIP.
Because these keys and this content are stored only in your browser's memory (not in any account, database, or log on our end), we have no ability to see, retrieve, or share them.
3. What Our Server Does See: License Key Validation
Sceneflow is gated by a license key that you purchase in order to access the Service. There is no signup and no login — the license key is the only credential involved. When you enter your license key, it is sent to our server (or our payment/licensing provider) solely to verify that it is valid and active.
We store the minimum information needed to operate this licensing system — such as the license key itself, its validity/expiry status, and basic activation data (for example, to prevent a single key from being shared across unrelated devices, if that limit applies). We do not collect your name, email, script content, or API keys as part of this check.
4. Third-Party Services
When you use Sceneflow, your browser communicates directly with the following third parties using the API keys you provide. Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle requests made with your key:
- Groq — receives your script text (or portions of it) to generate visual keywords.
- Pexels — receives search keywords to return matching video clips.
- Pixabay — receives search keywords to return matching video clips.
We do not control, and are not responsible for, how these third parties handle data sent directly from your browser using your own keys. We recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies if you have concerns about how your script content or search queries are processed on their end.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
Sceneflow may use your browser's local storage to remember non-sensitive preferences (such as your selected clip count) between sessions on the same device. This data stays on your device and is not synced to any server. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising trackers.
6. Payment Information
If you purchase a license key through a payment processor, that processor collects and handles your payment details directly under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store full payment card details on our own systems.
7. Data Retention
Since your script, API keys, and footage never reach our servers, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on that front — closing or refreshing your browser tab clears that session data. For license key records, we retain only what's necessary to keep your license functional and to support you if you have an access issue.
8. Your Responsibility for API Keys
Because your Groq, Pexels, and Pixabay API keys are stored and used entirely within your own browser, you are responsible for keeping them confidential and for any usage or charges billed to those keys by their respective providers. We recommend not sharing your device or browser profile with untrusted parties while your keys are entered.
9. Children's Privacy
Sceneflow is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly allow access to anyone not of legal age to enter a binding purchase agreement for a license key in their jurisdiction.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
